Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood 1-2

fma-title

It's baaaack!

I know I’m a bit late on this one, but after my friend convinced me that this series started all over again from the very beginning (rather than picking up where the other left off because I haven’t finished the original FMA >>;) I decided to watch it after it’s constant praise. I’m so glad I did!

I am so ridiculously impressed with the way BONES handled the “second let-me-ease-your-boredom1season” of this show. The animation was so smooth and pretty, the colors were astounding, the OP and ED were wonderful, the characters and voice acting were just like the original (except Winry and Roy, but those I can live with), the comedy scenes were hilarious, and the entire show was just overall better. Don’t get me wrong, the original show was great, but this is just insane. I can’t find anything about this that I don’t like. Suddenly this show just bumped up to the top of my anime alphonsepriority list. I seriously can’t praise this show enough. If you haven’t watched this (and you liked the original FMA, or even ever FELT LIKE WATCHING the original FMA at any given point in your life) then go watch this right now. It’s seriously the best one I’ve seen so far by a long shot. No exaggerations.

What also impresses me is that FUNimation picked this show up almost instantly, and has already started streaming subbed episodes on their website. Obviously, this is a show that already has quite a large fanbase, so huh1they really weren’t taking a huge risk or anything, but I’m still happy with the fact that American anime companies are finally getting the picture. Plus, the subs were quite accurate, the video quality was crystal clear, and the entire video was commercial free (except for at the very beginning, but that I can totally deal with). Now granted, the episodes take a few days longer to release than fansubs, but since I’ve been waiting for companies to do this for a long, long time, I’m going to support them and watch it on their site (plus, the quality!!! >3<) For once FUNimation, I’m really proud of you – now keep it up!

Not even going to do a recommendation thing here. Just watch it. Period.

    Gah ! What is there to be impressed about ? FMA franchise = instant money. I imagine there were some serious negotiations and auctions over which company will get the license.

  2. Best series ever yus.

    I tried to watch it on the official site, but it seemed like they only had certain times of day that you could watch it and I couldn’t figure out what time zone they were. Dx I know I’m missing something.

  3. Karry: I know, but shouldn’t that be a good thing? If FUNimation makes a big profit off of this, then that will guarantee more licenses like this in the future.

    Though FUNimation licensed/dubbed the original FMA, so that’s probably why they were the ones to do it again. I have to admit that they did a pretty good job. ^^;

    Purple Sparkle: I had no problem – I just went on the website, selected FMA, then watched it on their website in perfect quality (the good thing about watching company dubs is that it’s in it’s original quality and not a fan ripped version~) So I can’t help you there, sorry! ><
